Getting Here
Rome is served by two major airports, Fiumicino and Ciampino. If you are collecting a hire car at either airport, you need to drive firstly to join the GRA, the ring road around the city. You then follow signs to Firenze, and this will take you away from Rome on autostrada A1. You leave the autostrada at junction Ponzano-Romano-Soratte, and then drive through the countryside to reach Montasola. As you drive up the hill towards Montasola, you reach the hamlet of Forcella where the house is located. Depending on traffic the journey takes around one and a half hours from either airport.
If you are driving from any other part of Italy, use the autostrada network to reach the same junction on autostrada A1. It is helpful if you have change to pay the toll when you exit the autostrada.
There is no effective public transport in Montasola and so we feel it is not practical to stay at the house without a car. However there is a direct train from Fiumicino airport that comes through Rome to Poggio Mirteto station, which is the nearest to Montasola.
Full details of travelling to the casa will be sent to guests.
